That Day We Decided To Explore The World

We are pretty sure that every single person thought, once in his life, to leave everything behind and explore the world. We are here to tell you that it is possible, how it is possible and that we made it.

Frankly speaking this is the hardest decision you can make. Quit your job, leave your rented apt., leave behind your daily routine and say goodbye to your family and friends is a choice you can not take lightly. However, nothing is impossible! Other people already made it and there is no reason to think that you can not do it. Our main advice is to take your time to make the decision and then, go straight forward.

We are sorry to tell you that this is not the case in which two people decide overnight to pack their stuff and buy the first flight to Australia with the aim of finding themselves. Unfortunately we are not 20 anymore.
We are 31/32 yo designers with a stable and well payed job, living in a beautiful apartment in the centre of Milan. At this point in our life we have a clear idea of who we are and what we don’t want to do for the rest of our lives. Therefore, we are fully aware of what we are leaving behind and we pretty much know what we are searching for.

We want to explore the world because one day, when we will be older, we would rather have the memories of beautiful places visited, nice people met and amazing experiences lived than having spent it behind a desk, staring at a screen.

Actually there was nothing wrong with our lives. We just have this feeling that something is missing; probably what we really desire is being useful. Feeding horses in Andalucia, making maple syrup in Ontario, building green houses in the middle of Mexico are some examples of what we consider useful.
Besides this, what we will learn on this amazing adventure will be forever part of our cultural background, either in Italy or in some other place we will decide to stop one day.

Looking back on our life together the signs were always there that indicated we wanted explore the world. We have always preferred to spend our vacation lost somewhere instead of going to some fancy hotel. We would rather cook a dinner for our friends instead of going to a classy restaurant. Regularly we prefer to spend time with our parents while doing something worthwhile like chopping wood or looking for mushrooms.
Last but not least, we became a couple while picking apples together on Agnese’s Tuscan farm.

A friend of us one time answered to the fatidic question: “If you were stranded on a deserted island, name 2 things you would bring with you?“. The answer was “Michele and Agnese, I feel secure with them!”. He gave the most beautiful answer he could have had.
